Local Spotlight: Rhiannon James Doula
Pregnancy is a time of deep transformation—physically, emotionally, and mentally. While it’s exciting, it can also feel overwhelming and a bit lonely at times, especially if you find your friends or family are at different stages of life to you.
That’s where Rhiannon James, an experienced postpartum doula on the Central Coast, steps in with her nurturing and supportive Pregnancy Circles. These circles are more than just a gathering; they are a safe place for expecting mothers to connect, share, and feel truly seen and supported in a group of like-minded women.
A Safe Space to Share All the Feelings
One of the most beautiful aspects of Rhi’s Pregnancy Circles is the emotional support they provide. Rhi understands that pregnancy isn’t always glowing skin and baby kicks—it’s also filled with uncertainty, changing identities, and BIG emotions. Her circles offer a safe, welcoming environment where women can openly share their feelings without judgment. Whether it's excitement, fear, joy, or uncertainty, every emotion is valid and held with care. Having been a special guest at one of Rhi’s circles, I know this from experience!
Connection With Like-Minded Mums
In a world where modern motherhood can sometimes feel isolating, Rhi’s Pregnancy Circles create a much-needed community on the Central Coast. These circles are a chance to meet other expectant mums who share similar values and experiences. Friendships are formed, advice is shared, and a sense of belonging is nurtured. It’s a space where you can be completely yourself—no need to filter your thoughts or hold back your fears. Plus, you can continue the connection and catch ups after birth and into your postpartum where you essentially have your own pre-set up mother’s group! Perfection!
The Rhiannon James Experience
Rhiannon brings warmth, wisdom, and a deep understanding of the postpartum journey to each session. As a dedicated postpartum doula on the Central Coast, she has a special ability to hold space for women, making them feel truly heard and supported. Her guidance encourages expectant mums to trust their intuition, embrace their changing bodies, and prepare emotionally for the transition into motherhood. She also offers incredible in-person postpartum support if you feel inclined.
Why Modern Mums Need Pregnancy Circles
I know a pregnancy circle may seem a little woo-woo, but as I mentioned, I have been to one myself and seen the incredible value connecting with like-minded women can provide. Joining a pregnancy circle is an incredible way to build your village before your baby arrives. It’s an opportunity to learn, reflect, and feel deeply supported in your journey to motherhood, which, as we know, is full of ups and downs. Rhi’s circles focus on real conversations, emotional well-being, and community—all essential elements for a positive pregnancy and postpartum experience.
